3. Profile
Dr. G. Jayalalitha is a Professor of Mathematics at VELS Institute of Science, Technology and Advanced Studies, Chennai, with research expertise in fractal geometry, mathematical modelling, Graph Theory, and their applications to biological, medical, financial, and other complex systems. She holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics for her research on mathematical modelling in biology using fractals. Her research includes fractal models of blood flow and blood vessels, image-based analysis of cancer and other medical conditions, financial time-series analysis using fractal dimensions and Brownian motion, molecular graph theory, fuzzy graphs, and queueing models. She has an extensive research publication record, has presented papers at national and international conferences, and has supervised doctoral and postgraduate research scholars. Her interdisciplinary work demonstrates how mathematical structures, fractal methods, and graph-theoretical techniques can be used to investigate problems arising in biology, medicine, finance, and applied sciences.
